Midlands GradNation Summit

The 2016 Midlands GradNation Summit, led by United Way of the Midlands, Midlands Education Business Alliance, Midlands Technical College and the Midlands Regional Education Center at the SC Department of Commerce will be gathering educators, partners and stakeholders to consider what resources are available in the Midlands to support students from their earliest days all the way to graduation and beyond. The day long summit will be held at Midlands Technical College, Harbison Campus in the Theater. Join us on September 21, 2016 from 8:30AM-3:30PM to hear from our State Superintendent, Molly Spearman and well as local Superintendents from Richland County School District One, Richland County School District Two, Fairfield County School District and Richland/ Lexington County School District Five. Community partners from across the Midlands will join us to share their work during our Resource Walk!

Sometimes progress is not a straight line to the top, but instead marked with twists and turns. That’s the case for Lorain County, whose on-time high school graduation rates slid from 81.4 percent in 2009 to 67.8 percent in 2013.
